Movies: The Boy Who Could Fly (1986)

"Wish hard enough...love long enough...and anything's possible"

HELL YEAH another no-ordinary relationship movie again!

The story starts when Milly (Lucy Deakins) and her family move to a new neighborhood after her father recent suicide. She's in a pretty hard situation, because her mother is busy struggling with work and her GI Joe obsessed brother (Fred Savage) struggles with a neighborhood bully. Then, she meets a strange boy who lives next to her window called Eric (Jay Underwood).
Eric is an introverted silent type of a guy and a bit of a loner. He also has a huge fascination with flight. He lives with his drunken uncle after his parents killed in the tragic airplane crash when he was just a kid. And the only way he can believe in his reality is by believing he can fly. But, you know, nobody believes him, as human can't fly right?
Milly notices that everyone treats Eric differently cause he's autistic and doesn't really give a shit about anyone else or anything but flying. Then, she tries really hard to 'help' Eric and end up falls for him. It takes her the rest of the movie to figure out what to do about it. And yeah, you can guess the rest...

This is an incredibly long movie actually. The average flick clocking in at 98 minutes, this one soars in at a full 2 hours. Good for nostalgia though if it's been years since a viewing. So, if you haven't seen this flick then you should probably check it out!
